About the Author Mr. Parks grew up in the Southern Baptist Tradition and was thus taught the story of Noah and the flood as described in the King James Version of the Bible. Later, while in college, he read the Epic of Gilgamesh as written in the ancient clay tablets of Babylon and Sumer. The stories differed, but were alike in so many ways that it appeared to him that they obviously described the same event. As the years went by, Mr. Parks continued to hear various versions of the flood story as related by the “myths” from different cultures. It seemed that almost all of the ancient cultures had a version of the flood story. Many of the later cultures also had similar stories, which Mr. Parks assumed had been handed down orally through the ages. Mr. Parks noticed that all of the stories varied, yet all had some points of similarity. After he retired from a career as an aerospace engineer and an aerospace executive with a major aerospace company, he decided to study the available information to learn as much as possible about Noah’s Flood. The information discovered presented a troubling dichotomy for Mr. Parks; the scientific evidence did not appear to correlate with his Biblical training. This made Mr. Parks even more interested. He remembered that Jesus had said: “The truth will make you free.” John 8:32. He determined to find the truth. He found the truth - the truth that had been unknown down through the ages. This truth inspired this book.
Walter Hugh Parks graduated from Mississippi State University as an aerospace engineer and worked for Lockheed Martin for 24 years. He advanced from an aerospace engineer to Vice President of the Company and President of the Tactical Weapons Systems Division. He then formed Parks-Jaggers Aerospace Company and sold it 4 years later. He continued his education throughout his career with a MBA degree from Rollins College and with Post Graduate Studies in Astrophysics at UCLA; Laser Physics at the University of Michigan; Computer Science at the University of Florida; and Finance and Accounting at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. After selling his aerospace company he formed Quest Studios, Quest Entertainment and Rosebud Entertainment to make films at Universal Studios. He produced 10 films, Directed 7 films and wrote 5 films produced at Universal Studios. He then formed UnknownTruths Publishing Company to publish true stories of the unusual or of the previously Unknown or unexplained. These include books about past events so unbelievable that most people have relegated them to “myths”.
